Scott O'Hara won the Climates Songwriting prize in 2024 with his song 'Edge of Forever' a moody call to action against the coming storm. Recorded at the Bert Jansch Studio in Frome, by Scott on vocals, guitars, drums and synths, and backed by Bath based musicians Edward Bettella (San Reetam) on piano and Mark Thurstain on fretless bass.
Scott O’Hara is a genre-fluid, multi-instrumentalist & prize-winning singer songwriter from Sydney, Australia currently based in Somerset in the UK.
He first emerged as a Tasmanian teenager with a reputation as a budding blues guitarist, which led to jamming with legends Son Terry and Brownie McGee. Career highlights include playing guitar with Tate & the Million Dollar Band in Chicago (home of the electric blues), and a sojourn as the guitarist for Senegalese afro-funksters BuBaca Diop. As a solo-acoustic act on the singer-songwriter circuit in Sydney, Scott supported Ireland’s Brian Kennedy and released an ep of covers in 2016.
On relocating to Bath in the UK he co-founded the BathTub Orchestra and released an original solo single ‘Zeroes and Ones’ featuring legendary drummer Steve Ferrone, and acheiving radio play in two continents. He is now in rural Somerset recording an album.
